Why are kids’s hoodies and sweatshirts with St. Patrick’s Day illustrations so important?

These types of hoodie graphic designs for youth keep the family traditions alive. Not only is the clothing fun to wear but it’s Irish tradition on display. What Irish family doesn’t enjoy this?

Our St. Patrick’s Day Hoodie for girls combines an Irish blessing with celtic style fonts and Ireland based colors. The young girl is a great addition to the overall intention of the blessing written. 

Our shop didn’t really have a St. Paddy’s Day graphic design specifically. We had been making all America 250 based Irish designs. However, many kept coming to our shop looking for these specifically and we wanted to accomodate.

However, TrueLight was not about to slap together some cheesy looking Irish youth shamrock design. Our intention is to always have a story with heart behind the design. The Irish blessing written here is very meaningful to the Irish folks like ourselves at TrueLight. These are passed down through generations especially in the midst of hardship.

The girls St. Patrick’s Day hoodie design idea came from researching various artwork with boys and girls in Irish ceelbration type attire. We also looked into sayings from the mother country. Then there is the font type to consider. I had some Irish style fronts but none that really stood out. 

On Etsy where our shop is located, there are many, many, did I say many St. Patrick’s Day hoodie designs? Boat loads of designs. The plan was to obtain the right celtic style font, the right boy and girl graphic image, the Ireland flag, and Irish blessing in order to create something that would stand out. We put together a black and white composition next.

After changes to the overall composition were made, we moved to the production stage of adding color and texture. Inside Photoshop, we added color enhancement to the original graphic of the girl including adding Ireland’s flag colors to the shamrock. Next, we added the same flag colors to the text.

We knew the final St. Patrick’s Day outfit design for youth would be placed on white, irish green, forest green, and black pullover hoodies. This meant the final aesthetic of the Irish blessing design would have to compliment these choices – hopefully! In the end after the color step, we settled for a textured overlay to the color layer giving us a very pleasing St. Paddy’s Day outfit aesthetic.
