For people who already spend much of the day looking at screens, a physical book and time away from all things digital is special and refreshing.

“Engaging with a physical book versus a digital screen triggers distinctly different neurological patterns, specifically affecting the prefrontal cortex the region responsible for focus, thinking, cognitive load, and executive control.” – National Library of Medicine

There’s less distraction and more focus when reading a physical book. The temptation to open an app, check notifications, emails, and social media are all gone when the only thing in front of you is a book to read. The mind becomes free from the overwhelm of infinite scroll.

“We designed this cozy shirt for those that love the peaceful read of a great book. You wear the proud badge of honor against the hyper-connected, algorithmic world!“

Joseph & Carolyn Young, TrueLight Designs

Cozy Outfit for Book Lovers

Our concern about how much time we all spend on digital devices gave birth to this graphic design idea.

At TrueLight, we wanted a design that reflected the offline atmosphere every book lover seeks. Below is a collection of shirt colors displaying our Turning Pages Nurtures the Mind: Scrolling Starves It graphic design. We decided to have a little fun by matching reader type with the appropraite color.

Maybe, we got it wrong but it was fun trying. What type of reader are you? We’d love to know!
